Default V1 back from VR installed with S1 and hardwired

Got the V1 back from VR today. They fixed the ghosting problem (Mike called me to let me now a part inside was broken and needed to be replaced). Updated software from 3.824 to 3.826. Cost = $45 + shipping there.

Hardwiring was really quick and easy. S1 is fantastic. I'd take some pictures but there is not much to see. The S1 and all the wires are hidden in the access panel by the dome lights. The power wire comes out from the headliner about 4" down to the V1 behind the RVM. Eventually I plan to build some sort of contraption to completely hide the V1 from sight, but for now I'll leave it as it.

it's a radar gun issue for most KA ghosting, or did you have another problem?

even my old 9500i would ghost on 35.5

I drove by some known falses (that I knew about from my 8500) and the bogey count started at 1 then quickly multiplied to 5 or 6.

I left a note for the tech saying that I thought there was a ghosting problem and he called to confirm that a piece inside was broken and transmitting a signal back at itself, or something to that affect (effect?). I have not had a chance to drive with it yet. I'll check it out tomorrow and see if anythings different.

Perfect timing on this new setup. I just got an internship with a guy who says he logs 40,000 miles a year.

Some say that 3.826 is one of the best versions. I know I love mine!

Can you downgrade from 3.863 to 3.826? What makes 3.826 the best?

Not that I would do this, but has anyone every upgraded the software themselves? Sorta of like changing the firmware on the iphone.
