    Default new v1 just arrived yea, when run for like 10 mins its so hot is this normal

    the fed ex truck just came so happy, i didnt realize how small it is, i was hoping that it was big, but i set all the programs and went to my local store to get some false and it did a good job, but the thing is its gets so hot is this normal

    where do you live? yes the V1 soaks up heat like there's no tomorrow. i take mine off these days, otherwise you can't even touch it ><

    I wouldnt worry since the V1 can operate up to Range: -20°C to +70°C (-4°F to +158°F)
    I leave mine outside (100F) lol

    It has a Magnesium housing and yes this is normal. There is a protective circuit in the unit.
    Do not leave the unit mounted when the car is parked. I live in Texas and it gets very hot here.
    The V1 does fine just remember heat is the enemy on any detector. Some of the Escort models left in the sun with windows closed have melted the plastic case!

    The V1 is the best RD out there so treat it as such.

    Yea I live in Texas too and I can cook a steak on it. It literally gets to the point where you will burn your hand if you touch it. I have a pair of oven mitts in my car.
