VSP with VG2 = 1
V1 = 0
While driving within a few miles of the speed limit on I95 south in Sussex County I received a alert of radar. Rather than unplugging the unit (because I mistakenly assumed it was immune to the RDD employed by the VSP), I continued past the VSP officer sitting in the median. A few miles down the road the VSP officer blue lighted me and after pulling over approached and asked if I had a radar detector in the car. Clearly he already knew the answer to this so rather than lying and possibly making the situation worse I admitted I had a V1 (now in the glove box). The office stated he picked it up using his VG2. He took the detector back to his car, wrote me a ticket ($40 + ~$60 in processing fees - no points), returned the detector and sent me on my way.
As it appears the Bel STI is immune to thew new VG2/Spectre any chances of V1 working the same magic for those of us living in VA/DC? Any speculation as to MV's intent with regards to VG2?
PS. Awesome information to be found on this board.
