    Default It's Dead, Jim

My V1 is dead. No lights, no sound, NOTHING. I verified that +12V is making it to the power jack on the side of the unit. Is there a fuse internal to the V1 itself? I'd open it up and look, but I don't want to void my warranty.

The strangest part is there was no catastrophic event which lead up to this failure. I last used it on Thursday, and it was working normally. No sparks, no release of smoke, no trunk full of water, NOTHING unusual has happened to it between then and today.

If you've already tried other power cords and power sources, last thing to do is send her in to see her maker.

    The ground idea was good!
All 1-amp fuses are external, no fuses inside. When you say
"+12V is making it to the power jack on the side of the unit"
are you actually testing the RJ11 connector at the unit?
How did you get a tester inside an RJ11 jack?

Try using another RJ11 power cable.
Also another adapter, lighter or direct.

Yeah, I'm with Dave, try the cig. lighter if its hardwired.

Maybe even try those jump starting things, with the cable and battery. Usually they have a cig. lighter.

    I tried various combinations of:

    • The coiled cord
    • The straight cord
    • The cigarette lighter plug
    • The hardwire adapter
    • The cigarette lighter jacks in 2 cars
    • A 13.8VDC automotive bench power supply with both a lighter jack and a pair of banana jacks

I verified the cables by plugging them into an RJ-14 jack with flying leads which I could then test with my multimeter.

    It's absolutely, positively dead.

Swarga, how long have you had your V1? I guess not that long if its still under warranty.
