Yes you will get a brand new unit with a new warranty and all the goodies that came with it in the box

If it's a $75 upgrade, you already have a v1.8 V1 so they would just swap out some hardware and flash new firmware, and replace the lenses if they're scratched.

If you had an older V1 (v1.7 or earlier), then they would do the "Instant Upgrade" swap to a brand-new unit, but it would cost more than $75. More like $150 or so, maybe $200, I forget now.

Either way, you get a 1 year warranty on the unit afterward.

The way to find out is to go to the Upgrades section of the website and punch in your serial #. The site will tell you what kind of upgrade you would get and its cost.

    It should fix everything.
When you entered in your serial# at Valentines site what did it say?
It will tell you if they are replacing the unit or modifying the orginal unit and changing the serial# to show the new modification.

Why do you think it's defective? I'd include a note with the unit describing your problem so they can check it out. Unless the site says you'd get the "instant upgrade" to a brand-new V1.

I'm getting really sick and tired of hearing all these problems with V1's. It makes me think about going back to using my X50, however those have problems with self cal's too. What to do. What to do.
