FedEx Tag on my Door

Am I the only one who gets aggravated when people ship packages "signature required?" I have a valid signature release on file with Federal Express. I live in a city that is consistently ranked in the top 5 safest cities in the entire country. I've had all kinds of electronics, including an HDTV, left on my front porch with never a problem. I'm willing to take the risk of having my radar detector left on my doorstep.

What do they expect me to do, take off a whole day of work so I can sit around and wait for a goddamn package?

But hey I hate this too, I get so pissed. I'm so hyped for it to come and then i see that.

But this is what you do, I do this everytime now just incase. Put a note on the door saying:

NOTICE: UPS
Hey Please leave my package on the doorstep. Thanks
Sign

Then tear off a piece a paper about a 1/2'' high and whatever long and sign your name again. He will leave it there.

I'm glad I am not the only one.

I leave the house by 6:30am and don't get back in until 6pm. How am I EVER going to get that package? With both UPS and FedEx, I have to go to their nearest distribution center to pick it up. Good thing they are open to like 7pm, but still, it gets on my nerves.

X2. I had to get it like 8 at night. I checked it online at school right when V1 was trying to ship to my house and FEDEX online said "Signature Required", I was like WTH and there is no way I would wait until tomorrow (Typical V1 Zombie). I wanted now and try it at night. I don't understand why they required a signature with RD when HDTV, Computer Parts and all other crap don't require it. I don't understand.

yeah, i feel your pain.. then if you miss it another 2 times you have to go to the FedEx facility and pick the package up yourself

Yup, I live on the northeast side of my town, which is very remote and very safe.
My delivery drivers at first would knock on my door and make me sign, but after the 20th or so package in a month (yes I like to shop lol) they were like umm, I ll just leave it at your door step, after all this isnt exactly the hood
That was over 2 years ago, and I never had to sign anymore, but I remember at first I had to go get packages at the main office which is very far away...

I prefer sign required, because I don't like things left on the step. One fear is it might rain. I typically have things delivered at work if I can.
