Why are we comparing a a remote mounted radar detector that costs $1600 to the windshield mounted V1 that can be attained for less than $400?

Let's use some common sense here.

Once I see some official testing, I may believe the 9500ci is better in range.

Even if it is, why has it taken Belscort all the way since 1992 to catch up to the V1?

That's pretty sad if you ask me. However, if this is the case. What would happen if V1 created a remote mounted unit with the current V1 technology. Wow, that would be trouble for Belscort.

I also forgot to add that no matter how far you can detect, who cares if you don't know where its at

Nothing would happen because it would false so badly nobody would want it. I will agree with you if you can think of another way to get rid of the false alerts. I do believe that Valentine could make a better performing detector but it wouldn't work out. The CI currently is picking up false ka alerts from direct tv satalite dishes. Thats insane,

I would add to this but i'm not even going to bother. These V1 Zombies (not all of you but a select few that are so stuck on the Valentine) are rediculous.

Im not like that at all, its not like you guys or reps for Valentine. Like if i want somebody to like a certain car and they don't i just let it go. If i have a certain brand of a product that i really like and trust and another brand comes out with a better product (and it has to be reputable and trustworth too) then I will straight up tell you its a better product. Just because i have used that certain product/brand doesn't mean that i now am obligated to only side with that product. it doesn't make since..

Because the primary function of both units is to detect radar. The V1 was the standard for a long time, so the natural comparison is to the V1.

I think it's obvious at this point which of the two is more sensitive and this isn't official testing results?

Who cares how long they took? The fact is that the best unit out there today belongs to Belscort. This is exactly why quite a few long time V1 users are switching over to the 9500ci.

Whatever VR makes will not be able to compete with the 9500ci, unless they figure out some way to deal with false alerts. The 9500ci is basically dead silent, yet has incredible range for true LEO alerts. Not that there is any inkling of a new idea out of VR, but even if there were, making the current V1 into a remote unit, wouldn't make it any more sensitive or make it false any less. So, no, a remote mounted V1 would not be trouble for Belscort.

It doesn't take long to get a feel for figuring out where the LEO is without the arrows. Long time V1 user, thestaton, stated exactly this in this thread:

I, for one, am happy to see this development. IMHO, Valentine Research has been resting on its laurels for far too long. Hopefully losing the #1 spot will "inspire" some new creativity from the VR folks.

In the meantime, the V1 is still the bang-for-the-buck leader and the best portable detector you can buy. I don't plan on throwing mine away anytime soon.

Its sad to see you moronic belscort fanbois trying to compaire a 1600 dollar CI detector to a 400 windshield detector that beats the living **** outta everything the ****ty company that you obviously worship.
If Mike V was to release anything remotly close to a CI V1 unit, it will send you, escort and the rest of the fanbois back to the stone age.
Deep inside you know its true.
I think you are the one that QQ like a little ***** trying to find ways to put down V1, and I am really getting sick of it.

    ...

I would, personally, love to see a remote-mounted V1 even if it was $1,600.
