Does anyone think that V1 can up their game and compete with the CI results in the latest GOL testing....what would it take...I know we have the cost differnce going, but does V1 have anything they can do??
Call VR ask them what they plan to do to compete with the 9500ci & STI-R. You should get a answer.

Re: V1 vs CI
The Valentine One rules in the under $500 portable radar/laser detector market and that was Mike Valentine's goal. Belscort's goal is to sell you many different radar detectors from crappy to excellent and to flood the market with as many of their products as possible.
Belscort has a $500 detector that still can't beat the V1 so they decided to build a $1600 radar/laser detector with a junky laser jammer built in. Now people with the Escort 9500ci can say that they have a more sensitive radar detector but it is $1200 more than a V1 and the Escort 9500ci laser jammer is crap so can you really trust it?
I would prefer the best of both worlds which is the V1 and a Laser Interceptor jammer which is less than the Escort 9500ci and it works better.
I will let you know I plan to call and ask next week. I am also sending Mike V a e-mail about it.

Like I said in another post, if enough people complain to valentine they will come out with something great again.

New guy here and sorta confused. I didn't see anything resembling a "test" between the V1 and the 9500.
They slapped them on the windshield and pointed them up and to the side then took some readings. Sorta like a Cobra owner would mount them. No reported constancy in the angles were reported. Nothing related to actual conditions during use.
I would put this in the mildly interesting category, and that's sorta how they reported it. I think I will wait for the real testing before I call Mr. V and complain that his detector doesn't work so good.
I'm not ragging on the 9500. I think it may edge the V1 in the new testing. I just don't understand folks using this information to proclaim the demise of the V1.
