In my country we dont have Lazer band, only Ka and K

They dont use Guns , only fix cameras and moveable multanova

Mounting your V1 in the grill is something that I would NOT recommend. Mount your V1 as high as you can so your V1 has a better view on the road ahead.

I don't think it will detect any further. In fact it might lose some range. happya$$'s 9500ci is mounted inside his car's cabin, on the visor and it has better range than thestaton's 9500ci, which is mounted in the front grill.

Also, how would you protect it from the weather and how would you hear the alerts?

There are some members of the M3 forum that have done V1 installs under the rear window and wired to a remote display. They cover the V1 with a fabric cover so it's invisible. Pretty nice the images I've seen.

The nicest one has deleted post. But here's another around the same idea.

I don't think the V1 is weatherproof, is it?

If the heat from the radiator doesn't get it, the first puddle you drive through will.

BMW E36 Valentine One (V1) Stealth Install

I did a similar install on my MB. Pics start at post #6

First save with hidden V1

However this poster sounded like he was more interested in increasing his range then hiding the V1. For the record I think I get pretty good reception in my compromised install position but mounting it high on the windshield is probably the OP's best bet for distance.

I swear someone on here, just a couple of weeks ago, made a thread about the V1 enclosure.

Enter valentine 1 enclosure and hit the I'm Feeling Lucky Link.

Maybe the OP should figure out which kind of radar detector he has before he starts worrying about where to mount it.
