Default DIY: Valentine 1 hardwire guide in Acura RSX (02-06)

    Materials needed:

    Valentine 1 w/ hardwire kit
    One spade connector
    Wire crimper

    1. Mount the detector above the rearview mirror as high as you can get it.

    2. Run telephone wire from V1 up into headliner and down A-Pillar and down the drivers side door (plenty of places to hide the wire, I have no wire showing anywhere)

    3. Open fuse box located under steering wheel

    4. Above the actual colored fuses you will notice a 1"x3/8" square area that would contain a module but instead has 3 pins (this is for Canadian Daytime Running Lights) -- take note of the middle pin -- as it provides power.

    5. Cut off the metal plug end on your V1 hardwire kit, strip part of the plastic red wrapping off and crimp the bare wire into your spade connector.

    6. Plug spade connector into the middle pin described earlier, make sure it is secure and tight.

    7. Use the screw that holds the fuse box in place for your ground area.

    8. Mount the hardwire thing that holds the RJ-11 jacks somewhere where it is hidden inside the fuse area.

    9. Hide all your wires, check your work, turn on car.

(Optional Step) 10. Attach your remote display to the area in the picture and run that wire down the steering wheel area making sure to hide as much of it as possible.

Haha yeah. The tree is classic. It's "Sweet Pear" -- pretty good!

    Default Other...

The other thing which stuck out is that it appears that your wiper blades are pointing straight up?

Is this just the camera angle, or are both of your wipers pointing skyward?

Yes yes. Both of my wipers are indeed pointed skyward in the "car wash" position.

That picture, and several others (archive of pictures available at www.kenton.org/rsx) were taken after a car wash one day.

I'll have a new signature picture this weekend, I think after I get my high-wing spoiler I'm going to find a decent parking deck at college after dark and do a shooting session.

Hoping to get a buddy to come out in his EP3 (02-05 Honda Civic Si) kinda like a little brother/bigger brother deal. (Less 50 horsepower makes you the little brother haha)

    Default Cool

Looks good - if you ever want to get together for a cool photo op together, just let me know.

Here is one I took last night at the Clinton Library. I'm still trying to figure out manual metering on my digital cam.

    Holy **** man. Nice car!!!

I'd LOVE to get some photos! I'll private message you my cell phone number. I live in Little Rock, too; go to school at UALR. My real name is the same as my username if you decide to call.

If you want to bring that beast of yours out tonight, you can find me at Shell on Chenal Rd (or Lubys behind the Shell in the same lot)

Or at K-Mart on Rodney Parham.

Yes, I hang out with the ricers -- am I ricer -- NO.
