I was driving home, had my V1 on (V 3.863 in A mode). As I approach the bottom of a hill, I see a white fender; I slow down and see a PSP sitting in a Ford SUV. As I pass him, the V1 goes off on K, but only to 3 dots for 2 seconds at point blank range (I was no more than 40 feet from the cop). I am thinking, WTF, why didn't my V1 go to full alert? I did not have a chance to see the radar gun, as there were people in front of my acting like idiots because they saw a cop. So I am thinking what could have happened for the V1 to act like that.
About 3 miles down the road (flat terrain), I get a K alert at a spot where I never saw a cop, so of course I slow down and there was not anyone in front of me. This alert was to 4 dots this time and lasted about 1 second (again no one in front of me). About 2 seconds after the alert ended, I see a PSP sitting parallel to the highway behind a mound in the median (great spot for him, BTW). I never saw a cop sitting at that location. Anyway, as I pass the PSP trooper, he does not hit me with instant on. He hits the traffic that was behind me by about 100 yards with instant on, and my V1 went full alert the whole time.
So my question is, what could have happened both times for the V1 to get a very weak alert? I was on top of him the first alert and the second alert I guess he accidentally pulled the trigger, IDK? I am trying to make sense of what happened. Could the front antenna be messed up? Tune up in the future?
