V1 Description: Radar circuitry known in-house as V1.8—POP2 with Euro Mode. This is our latest and best performer on both radar and laser. Upgrade Recommendation: You already have our best.
^ I'm pretty sure I read somehwere when you do a status report via v1 site it really is just saying you have the latest major updates/features not firmware. Like you have Pop with euro bassicly not neccessarilly the latest firmware.

For instance, I have a V1.8 POP2 with 3.826 firmware and this is what Valentine Research said about mine.

I did get a J alert today, Ka band prolly cobra.. it was kinda weird cuz i had 3 bogeys but 2 confirmed LEO's
What can happen is that the 2 cops are being detected + other detectors detecting the same cops could be a bell or a cobra, escort etc this can give off a xtra Ka alert. The older post pop V1's use to give out a "J" alert in this situation which would all so J out the real cop OMG! Anyhow these days that has been stopped by allowing the V1 to stay alerting when more that one ka bogey is present. As in the latest firm ware models have this feature and will only "J" out if one false Ka is present. Also remember the Ka guard feature works very well and you may not even get a "J" alert ever.
A couple of years ago I rang VR from New Zealand and got Mike V answering . I explain to him earlier that day I had a situation where my .824 was alerting to a real cop when it suddenly “J” him out to no alert. I turn it off then back on once again it alerted to the cop then “J” no alert. I looked to my right and there it was a bell (990 or 980) detecting the same cop and giving of all sort of Ka crap which in turn “J” my V1. This type or “happening” also confirms to me that running Two detector side by side is a big no go and all post that sate 5ooo miles side by side and now i know. BS you don't. They do inter fear with each other.

Fixed Limit Speed Enforcement is NOT "Revenue Generation". To the contrary, it is legalized Highway Robbery. Moreover, it undermines the interests of public safety for at least three reasons: 1) by diverting scrutiny from dangerous behaviors; 2) by eroding confidence in law enforcement; and 3) by oiling the gears of corruption.
I just got back from a 360 mile road trip through the hills of AZ on route 60: 4 saves. The new V1 works like a champ. No ghosting. "J" works fine. I didn't get a chance to compare it to the X50 though; I didn't want to turn of the V1. I did turn on the X50 once to see that the Show Low Police were using 34.7 (Kustom Ka). AZ Highway patrol was using Stalker, (not sure of the frequency but I recognized the antenna). Not one K band encounter, (except Walgreens) I will say this, though, the V1 is way to sensitive for use in town. I may have a use for the Escort after all.
