    Default V1 vs Heat

I happen to leave my V1 under 92 degree heat for an hour and got back to driving. As soon as I got out of the parking lot, I encountered LEO with CO radar 35.5 on axis. Sad to say, detection was about 500-600 ft. I immediately touch the V1 and obviously, the casing was hot. I am really convinced that heat takes a toll on the V1 decreasing it's performance. I will do a test with how heat will affect the V1.

Just make sure your V1 does not get direct sunlight and expose to heat for long periods of time.

Yes, I've noticed that also but mine acts normal the next day if parked in garage with V1 up on the windshield (or not). It's not like it's going to melt the interior hardware or anything like that, haha.

I have one vent pointing to the V1 and when it cools down, it works normal. It so happened that, I just got out of the parking lot with not enough time to cool down. I'll share my test results once I'm done with the test. This may take a week or weeks. I'll do one under hot conditions and do 1 when it is cold.

Do escorts have this problem? I guess it's not really a problem, but do they operate differently when hot as V1?

It happen again driving in a summer traffic jam in NYC my V1 stoped alerting completely I looked at the guy next to me in traffic also with a v1 and his was going crazy k-band mine was silient

I rechecked my settings turned the V1 on and tested it with a radar detector tester with no luck

V1 needs to be cool to perform so I am always feeling my V1 to make sure its not too hot

I have never had this issue, sounds to me like your V1 fell out of tune, not that it stopped working because of heat.

you haven't experienced real heat then

My V1 has never fell out of tune as I have never needed to tune it up just let it cool off for a bit and the performance is back to normal

V1's before the 3.85x versions without digital temperature thingy(not sure what its correctly called) are hurt by the heat

My V1 performs much better when it is cooler
