Default Big News I now own a V-1

Ok, now I have gone from a BEl Vector 985, to the RX-65, to the X-50, and now to the claimed master of radar detectors the V-1. Latest version. I have had it for a few days and still working on the whole muting out the k band stuff. So far I love the arrows.

    Congratulations!

Can't wait to see some videos of it in action!

It's funny, you went from the X50 to a V1, and I'm thinking of getting a X50 as a 2nd detector to use in other cars, or as a spare when the V1 goes out for upgrades.

Are you going to get a concealed display and do a stealth install like I did?

Well I can tell you this. If you don't like falses it is not the detector for you. My father is now using my X-50 and he said hey I want to see that V-1. He said he wanted one. Well after no more than 20 minutes of us driving around he said know way. He said he would keep the X-50.

I love the X-50 over any othe radar detector unit I have ever owned. I think that the range is the same as the v-1 and you get less falses. However you don't have arrows or the multiple bogey counter.

The falses are bad cause once you pass the false then you pick it up from the rear for a while. Then when you are at a light and you make a turn you are picking doors from both directions so you may have 4 or 5 k bands at one time. But there are some things you can do about k band falses and I did that today. Only one or two cities here use the k band so not a big worry for me. Oh something I also noticed is it will false on Ka band. I have never had a false on ka before. Also it is so sensitive on laser that it will just start going off on laser. Not sure if I am picking up the new vehicles with that laser guided cruise or not.

I swear I was not in Texas with JTW's tester

How many laser falses do you get? I have gotten none to date (2 mos.).

I like the linearity of the V1, I can prepare to respond at the initial detection or ignore it if it does not increase. You'll find that the absence of the POP full-alert is good, too.

Do you have any X-Band in Texas (locals or otherwise)? The V1 X-Band is very refined and there are no door-openers on Interstates in NJ.

I have had 3 laser false encounters. When it happend it would alert about every other second. Dallas is a highly populated area and I did see plenty of trail blazers and infinitys around.

I tested my 3.825 with a number of Envoys and Trailblazers and this rev. seems insensitive to the neon high brake light. I can't comment on the laser-guided cruise controls but (I've said this before) something on my I30 dash in the driver's immediate FOV causes the V1 to false laser. I need to look at this with IR camera.

It should "J"unk out Ka falses if they're caused by Cobras and the like. Has it done that yet?

As for the laser falses, are you in an affluent neighborhood with lots of higher-priced cars? If so, you could be seeing the laser cruise control. So far, the only ones that set my V1 off regularly are the Infinitis.

Newer trailblazers shouldn't set off the V1, but older ones did with the neon brakelight (well, I had a 1.7 V1 at the time. My 1.8 has never gone off for a brakelight). Since you have a jammer you could just turn laser off entirely on the V1 if it drives you too crazy. Or send nasty letters to Infiniti until they fix their system so it doesn't set off detectors.

When you get an Infiniti false, is it from behind? What is its timing like?
I wish I had my V1 today as I got a 1.5 mile Ka on my way home that just.....disappeared. I missed the arrows
