seems to be my only way to stop my Audi giving falses.
seems to be my only way to stop my Audi giving falses.
where do you live? if they dont use POP in your area then yes keep it.
I would say that about 99% of V1 owners in here disable POP
YES!!! turn pop off ur v1 will be better off
By what technical process does POP cause falses? Does it simply make the radar hypersensitive to K or Ka, so that it alerts on distant or weak signals? I mean, are POP falses from actual radar signals (door openers, etc...), or are they completely spurious and from no actual radar source?
I was wondering about POP myself for my V1. I have looked and don't understand exactly what it does so I'm scared to turn it off until I am sure.
POP alerts to shorter blips of radar (i.e. signals persisting under 100ms, possibly under 200ms) while non-POP mode on the V1 will only alert to a radar source that continues for at least 300ms or so, depending on band.
With a longer alert threshold, other RF-emitting devices nearby that only briefly sweep through the police radar range will not produce a long enough signal to satisfy those filtering requirements with POP off.
Ah! Seems like "sweep" may be the key term. Random radiating devices, as opposed to door openers and such. I'm going to try it out and see what kind of difference it makes. Although, I just don't get many falses on my V1 anyhow, not living in an urban jungle. And, unlike that idiot at Escort in his anti V1 video, I don't spend a lot of time running my V1 in shopping centre parking lots and freaking out about it.
Maybe you should call someone at Valentine, about the falses in your Audi maybe you detector is not working correctly?
Second you should not turn off your POP unless you’re sure your local Leo's don't use it. You never know if you have a Leo that actually knows how to use POP correctly, and or doesn’t care if he clocked you with POP and decides he’s going to write you up anyway .
