I might do that later, but I need a lower melt solder, right now I have one that has a lot of silver in it, good for strength but melts at to high of a temperature.

I don't know if I really want to start selling them, yeah it would be nice to make a little money but I don't know about the time invested. Also I don't know how happy REBinc would be about me doing that.

Originally I was thinking about putting up a DIY paper on how to do it yourself if you are willing to try. I have all of the proper equipment, a digital solder station, a hot SMD rework station, the proper LED's, the proper flux, and tools to do the job right. I was even thinking about a way to redesign the front panel so I could make my own and color in the dots. I am still working on that but I will get on it soon. I also have AUTO CAD and might start working on the arrows and might make them clear to allow different colors.

Also If I make a different front sticker I can make a mute delete right in it and not worry about having a hole/ button there.

I just started soldering wires (modded cold cathode and placed it into my trunk) but never done anything with small leds.

If you can put a DIY on how to solder small leds to a board like that, I would be interested in doing it myself. I want to change the leds on my steering wheel controls as well. Even pointing me to a video or something on how to solder leds would be nice also

languy99: Is there a photo light sensor within the concealed display? If so, would you be able to point it out in one of your fine photos please? Thanks in advance!

yeah there is, look in the first photo. It's the black box between the bogey counter and the band LEDs. It has a weird looking surface finish to it.

Thanks a bunch! I have my concealed display custom mounted within my instrument cluster, behind tinted plexiglass. It doesn't receive enough ambient light to control the brightness. I will have to extend some wires to the photo cell and mount it in another location so that it does receive more light.

I put 1st 3 LED on signal strength to "yellow" color and next 2 LED I left them as original "red", and the rest I put bright red LED, I may change them to different color, but as of now it look good for day & night

I mod my V1 not the conceal and mounted high
