    Default V1 concealed display modded.

OK, I just finished modding my CD. Everything went well, the only thing that is kind of not satisfying is that I was not sure where the paint on the plastic was and I though I read it was on the front. It's not, it's on the inside. So the front part is a little scratched from me trying to remove the paint, the picture makes it look a ton worse than it actually is in real life. If I would do another one it would turn out way better. But for now I am totally satisfied.

    Before any mods

After modes, I actually have the exact LEDs that V1 uses. Except mine are just a little brighter.

    The front modifications

    All of the LEDs lit.

    Looks good!

IMHO, this is how they should come from the factory. Maybe in 1992 they only had red LEDs, but nowadays the colored ones are readily available and they make such a difference, especially at night.

Dude, it looks like you were digging for China on that thing, lol!

So, did you paint on the new colours, or did you use coloured LEDs? Good job!

Yeah, the picture makes it look so much worse, if you saw it real life you could not tell the front was scratched. I used both, colored the lens and colored LEDs

You can use a small tip screw driver or tweezer to scrap the paint off, do not apply any pressure, otherwise it will scratch/deform the plastic ( I mess-up a bit on one hole, but not really visible at all)

I do not know how to upload pix, here is the link my mod V1.

Awsome pics, and I like the modded V1 display. Looks like you have a bit of a passion for antiques.

You know what would be cool also? changing the led on the strength meter. the first 3-4 would be green, the next 2-3 would be yellow and the last couple would be red
