Default v1 doesmt seems to impress me

Every leo i catch is just couple second warning i say proble 10 secondgs or so, with k and ka band. I dont know if my v1 is messed up i mean the other day it picke up a speepsign a mile way. But when it comes to leos it just suckes, and dont even let me talk about forward facing 35.5 its just sucks if alearts about 2 secongs warning for you and same as off axiss.

What kind of terrain are you driving in? That really makes a difference.

how about I only got 5 secongs warnng on 35.5 ka band forward facing when it was a straight road with no hills or curves and there where cars comming from the opposit side.

I saw dj rams picks up forward facing 35.5 from a good half to 1 mile away

Yes every band gets reduced with hills and curves. If you get 10 second warnings around curves and over hills before the LEO can even see you that is still more than enough time to react is it not? For me it is It really would depend how how drastic your terrain is.

yes thats true I guess I have to get it out of my mind that V1 is going to give me 1 mile of warning every single time.

Its because 35.5 is very directional and hard to detect. The only way you will get long range on 35.5 is head on detection. If there is any curve in the road there is a big loss of detection range. On a hill I basically got no warning, I was driving up the hill and the cop was coming up the other side. He was running C/O 35.5 and I got a full blast just as I saw him.

Besides the aforementioned environmental effects (terrain, weather, ...), warning distance is also greatly influenced by the speed in which you are traveling in relation to the PSL.
