Default Aftermarket suction cups for freezing windshield?

Is there anything that works better than the stock ones? I'm looking for something similar in texture to the Garmin GPS suction cup. The freezing windshield makes the V1 cups go hard and they keep falling off.

lordhawhaw: I think the reasons why GPS suction cups are so much better is that they are larger and allow the end user to apply pressure (via a lever) to provide more suction power.

I came across these modified mounts for RDs:
    Radar Detector Mounts

They appear to be utilizing the suction cup from GPS units and they have a platform in which your RD rests upon.

Other than the above, other users have purchased larger suction cups and modified them to fit their OEM RD bracket. This would provide more holding power, but the freezing effect would probably still hold true...

I don't know, but I'm sure the HUGE suction cup is reflecting RADAR perfectly into the horn.

I had the same question last year, and some helpful person here directed me to Michael's craft store. They have clear suction cups of the same size as the valentine's, but seemed to work much better in cold weather. (And it does not get much colder then MN in January)

The replacements fit in the valentine bracket just perfect.

Walmart cups in the bath section. They look to big, the ones with the hooks on them. Each cup has different sections on it, cup off the biggest ring and they will work perfectly. They are a little hard to get in the bracket but they will fit.
Good thing is they stick like glue and are cheap.
