Default Connect Valentine to Car Stereo

Hello, I recieved my brand new V1 a week ago and I was wondering if there is a way to hook it up to the car stereo (via aux in port) without using the remote audio addon. There is a "speaker" port on the left side of the V1, but there is no documentation or explanation on how to use it. Does anyone know if there is a way to use this port to get output to the stereo??

That's the speaker itself. The little piezo buzzer is right behind that hole.

Ohh, wow, lol. I thought that was a 2.5mm port. So the best way would be to get the external audio addon and then connect the headphone port to the stereo?

    yup

Remember though, if you only use an aux in on your stereo, you'll only be able to hear the V1 when you have the aux activated. Seems as though I saw a special device one time that would let you play the audio from your V1 while the stereo itself was going, but I don't remember for sure.

You did. It was on ebay from some website out of Israel. It went for about $20, but the discussion was that it could easily be made as a DIY project, and also, who'd want the V1 to cut into your music for falses.

Can't find the thread though, but I did find their website. However, its in Hebrew.

If you go to their site, on the Right hand side you'll see a column with Hebrew text and V1 arrow symbols. The 7th down from the top is the V-Mute (they call it.) That's what we saw on ebay.

I never use the radio. I always use the aux in anyway for my pda so I would just merge the detector and my pda with an adapter and plug it into my stereo. Also... what is the external speaker port on the audio adapter for exactly? Is it for just an actual speaker or is it a line out kind of thing?

I think that the two jacks (different sizes) on the remote audio adapter are for headphones, probably with motorcycles in mind.

V1 remote adapter -> 1/8" to RCA adapters (probably mono) then get an adapter that allows 2 RCA inputs with 1 output

Plug in the mono V1 plug and your FL or FR speaker (probably FL b/c we're the driver)

Then it should come through your front left speaker only how about that

Is there a way to get the V1 indicators to display on a head unit with a video screen? That would be cool.

You would need a special adapter that would take the analog output from the v1 and turn it into video. I haven't seen this. The only device close to the idea is an adapter for BMW's that connects to v1 and puts the output up on the digital readings below the speedometer.
