I have been hearing how the 9500ix is a really great detector with all sortss of cool features and being very close if not better with the range of the v1. So i actually am thinking of giving it a try and if i do like it sell the v1 and keep that. HOw many of v1 owners switch to the 9500ix and how does the 9500ix do with 35.5 ka band. Or what would you go for 9500ix or a Bel G65

I own both. The V1 is more sensitive than the 9500ix on all bands. I like the features of the 9500ix better than the V1. Both do very well on 35.5Ka, but the V1 is better.

The 9500 IX doesn't have anything I want, so I can't think of any reason to try it. That's like a happily married man trying gay sex just because it looks different. That ain't how I roll.

It's more like a happily married man trying the hot 20 year old across the street because it's different and better than the same tail you've been getting since 1992.

lol..
I love my V1 and a few days ago I bought an ix to try out.
I am very happy with it, so far it's been very solid.
Will I replace my V1 with the ix? not likely, I am spoiled to the arrows.
But i will definitely use it in town allot for sure

Yeah, if the 20 year old is a guy.

I have two V1's sitting in the closet compliments of my 9500ix. In "my" real world tests on I-10, I-75 and the Florida Turnpike, it has provided me with more than ample detection range (rating it as same or in some cases better than my V1's). This coupled with the RLC and Speed Camera database makes it a winner (so far). Yes the V1 arrows were nice, but I have really not missed them. I enjoy running my 9500ix in full dark mode w/concealed display and voice alerts "on".
Seems a lot of guys with store bought 9500ix's say it is very comparable to the V1's, while guys with "upgraded" 9500i's are saying its range is less than the V1.
Hopefully the next GOL test will use both upgraded 9500i's and store bought 9500ix's. I suspect it does not have the pure straight line detection of the V1, but only a true test can tell.
