Question For those of you that mount the CD on the steering column

I am currently using the 3M dual lock fastners that came with the concealed display. I have it mounted on the steering column close to the guage cluster. They do a decent enough job, but I was considering something a little more "low profile". The dual locks seem to keep the CD about 3mm off the column.

    My question is:
What is another alternative dual-sided-tape-like mount for the CD on the steering column that you guys have had success with? What do you like/hate?

Quite frankly, of all the velcro-style fasteners I've tried, 3M Dual Lock is by far the best in terms of holding power and repeatibility. Perhaps you should try the lower profile version of 3M Dual Lock.

If you never intend on moving the CD or repositioning it, 3M also makes an industrial double sided tape for automotive applications. I believe it is for attaching trim. It has the red colored backing on it and it has a very powerful adhesive.

I'll have to check out these "lower profile" dual locks. The ones that came with the V1 work OK, but there is some play to them. Just looking to eliminate that.

And I will want to remove it at some point.

    Thanks

EDIT: haha just looked at the 3M link in your sig. I'll have to hit up my local Radio Shack or Target.

You have a few choices, you can get double sided foam tape, but you can take off and on like with velcro. Or you can try reg velcro, it has a lower profile.

This is precisely what I use and it's definitely much thinner than dual lock.
