Not trying to make you sound stupid, but the audio alert is your first line of defense. Is is very important to be able to differentiate the audio tones. It's not too tough:
K: braap
Ka: braap-braap
X (if you have it on): beep
Laser: euro siren (you're dead)
Not that hard, right?
The last thing you want to do while speeding down the road, is to look at the concealed display to know what the alert is... and the arrows only require a quick glance.

i have to say that the colour concealed displays are the job.

laser = red (not that i need to check )
Ka = blue (not used here but i leave it on for Js )
K = amber
X = green (off)
instant band recognition by night

I have no problem with the different tone. I never look to see what the alert is, only whether it's in front or behind me.
I as well. The tones are simple enough.

First I used a white sticker, still hard to see. Then I got a glow in the dark sticker, doesn't glow like you think it should, but seems better than a white sticker.
I was thinking the reflective route, but typically with reflective you need light to bounce off it anyway.

Well you need light shined on the glow in the dark to glow
You have lights from street or dash to give that reflective...kinda
Or put a film over the LED
