The reward being a ruse, hmmm let's see how it plays out. The Nav was $250.00. So if I get everything back (which I am most likely not.) and there is no damage, I would heavily consider the reward based on the person who wants to claim it.
Getting it back is the most important thing, once that is achieved they will need to speak to the police about how they got it back. Then maybe an reward.
2 things here, they are most likely not going to get that much for it, B: It at least puts the teens calling and the word spreading out there about the offer. If anything their curiousity will eat them alive.
Bottom line someone knows something, and I am confident my stuff is right under my a$$.

Gee, I feel like I lost my V1 club membership here today, but you guys are great. Man, I cannot belive this $%&#!!! I almost want to cry, but I am too numb to even get that far.
Hey, what the HECK are you still doing, posting here in the Valentine Forum?!
;-)
I feel for ya, too, bro-mie. My car was broken into twice in my drive way. Scum bags took my briefcase, with a nice fountain pen in it my girlfriend gave me. Got my tactical folding ...uhhh, errr, that is my package-opening cutting tool. Got the wireless radar interface for my gps mirror. They must have been interrupted, cause they didnt' get my RD, that was just hanging there on the windshield.
I was so p!ssed. I bought upgraded flood lights for the driveway, and a wireless motion sensor that triggers them. Next, I'm gonna get the add-on indoor alarm that goes with the motion sensor.
There are time I think about leaving my car unlocked with a $20 bill on the dash so I can catch the little pukes.
Maybe I should have taken up Dave the "Rottman" on his suggestion to get a Rottweiler.

I have a alarm in the house that beeps when someone is in the yard. One time I ran out with my 9mm when it went off at 3am but no one there. I got it after someone took some stuff out of my yard. You can get one from radio shack. Now I sleep knowing that no one is taking my ****!!!!!!!!!
I would seriously check the pawnshops like suggested. I once bought a v1 in a pawnshop in vegas while on vacation. "I like looking in pawnshops". sometimes the owner doesn't know what they got. I picked it up for 20.00 bucks. back in 98 I believe. I sold it on ebay for over 300.00 bucks. that was quite a profit.
but I would really check them out. could of been a crackhead who just took it to the pawnshop to get some quick cash.

Question: Did your car insurance or home owners insurance cover the lost property? It's my understanding that car insurance only covers items that are directly tied to the automobile. ex: steering wheel, seats, radio, etc etc.
We found this out after my roommate had his sirius radio *don't ever steal these if your a thief your totally wasting your time*, cd's, and passport 8500 stolen from his Audi one evening. Thankfully he had renters insurance that covered the items.
I was shocked at first to find out your automobile insurance wouldn't even think of covering a radar detector. That's like calling them up and saying I just ran over 500 people of different ethnic orientations on Christmas with a heroin needle still in my arm, a slut jerking me off, talking on the cell phone, all the while over dosing on ambien.
