Default V1 for my FD3S RX7

Hi everyone, im new to the board and am saying hello from New Zealand!

Iv recently got a V1 detector after a few too many tickets recently in my FD Rx7. My V1 is an older model one - the one thats a bit fatter with the laser thing underneath the rear antenna..oh well it was only $80 NZ (about 50-60 USD) from a friend.

I used to have some kind of uniden detector that was utter crap, it would go off at everything. It gave way too many faulse alarms it wasent even worth having..i literally just lost it / let someone use it and never asked for it back because it was so crap.

anyway so far im VERY impressed by the V1, even though its an old one its damn good. NO faulse alarms whatsoever and its managed to pick up cops from about 2km away and the arrows were SPOT on. Arrows truned to the side and then to the rear as i passed the cops by. very impressed.

Anyway just saying hello and great forum you guys have here.
anyone else here into rotarys?

No false alarms? I think you might have a problem with that V1 if it gives you no false alarms. The V1 is famous for it's fantastic sensitivity, not it's quietness. I'll bet your V1 is waaaaaaaaayyy out of tune and in serious need of repair if you're getting no false alarms.

every valentine iv seen here in nz is the same as far as no faulse alarms. (well you can always pick up rader but not actually see a cop because its round a corner or whatever, but i dont know of any actual faulse alarm spots.

I believe its because only Ka band and laser is used by the police here. so k, x etc are all turned off hence no faulse alerts from anything.

im sure my V1 is working properly, its proved very sensitive when a cop is near
and the arrows have been spot on. Its old yes but i dont think iv got any reason to think its not functioning properly. especially because everything but Ka and laser is turned off.

X and K turned off totally explains it. Lucky you.
