Default Q for the newer V1 owners

There has been an influx of new owners that were Belscort owners, like Fire, Blinderguy and few others.

I am curious going to keep your V1's or send them back?

14 days into my 30 day trial, still undecided. It is really hard to change after running the X50 for so long. It is possible I may try the 9500 also. I do love the arrows, have no problems with false alerts where I live, range is great.
My biggest gripe at this point is the display. I spent 460 for the V1 and remote display, now will need to have the CD customized to make it work for me. Then add a remote mute switch. So I will have over 500 in it.
I also miss the blue display, and looking at a red A is weird for me. I had planned to keep them both mounted, which is going to be a hassle.
For fun I have ran them both at the same time mounted 6 inches apart. With X and pop off on both units, they act like they run fine. K false alerts come on together, no KA alerts to judge off of yet. I will not try this in real world, but having spec and arrows is great. Still 2 weeks to decide.

I felt the same way. You get the remote display then have to go through the trouble of getting it modified. Turns out to be expensive overall. You have to say is 500 bucks worth it just for the novelty?

why is it so difficult to differentiate the bands? i got used to it in couple of days.. moreover it is the audio tone that u have to worry about and arrows.
the dot on the display is not that significant when u get used to the audio tones after a while.

i myself look at only the arrows and different audio tones.

I think it's great that users of both Belscort and VR products are now taking a more objective look at all of these products. It certainly is more productive than the "Hatfield and McCoy" approach of times past around here. Newbies that come around asking legitimate questions about what is best for their needs are getting better advice from this forum as a whole, instead of everyone just pumping the product they use.

I'm so proud of you guys!

X2 guit123. I am perplexed by this as well. The tones are a breeze.

I suppose it is from so many years of Escort tones and visuals. They are quite different than those used by V1. Where I live its alot of IO KA and at times I don't want to be wondering what it is. As it is now I slow for any sound from the V1. I guess I am just a slow learner.

Actually, the V1 and X50 IMO use extremely similar tonal qualities: Higher pitched cleaner tone for X, lower pitched raspy tone for K, and two quick K-tones for Ka... Unless you use LOUD mode in which case you get three colorful and extremely irritating 90's cellphone ringtones.
