I was comming back from the gym yesterday and saw a motorcycle LEO with a "customer". From past experience, I know they started using LIDAR in my area.
I get home and get in the shower, and then I'm off to run some errands.
I decided to take a road I suspect the LEO might be on, and what do you know....I was right on the money.
I was in a car only equipped with a V1, but to my amazement, I was able to pick up his LIDAR from quite a distance.
Please take a look at the map: (map is to scale, from google)
The red dot shows his location when I pass him. I was going north bound, and he was targeting vehicles going south bound.
My thought is, either the V1 has an incredible LIDAR range, or he took a rear shot at a vehicle approaching me and the beam scatter got to the V1 LIDAR sensor.
I finally pass him, he keeps shooting vehicles going southbound and the V1 shows the front LIDAR alert.
I looked at the gun he was using, it was an LTI 20-20.
Notice the distance scale.
