Default Mounting A V1 behind window tint

I was reading about a chap who mounted his V1 on the rear head rest and has no difference in detections. Do you guys think this would be the same If i mounted a V1 behind a Window tint strip at the top of my windscreen??

mounting behind the window tint can cause a massive loss in detection performance.

we all seem to agree mounting under the tint is the bast way...

mike did some window tests on the v1 heres what he had to say>

I mount mine behind the 15% band I had installed at the top.

I didn't have any OEM tint on my RSX for some weird reason!

I haven't noticed any decrease in performance (at least in stationary targets such as X and K stores, they still detect at the same time)

I think that if we're talking about the blue OEM tint then there won't be a problem as it doesn't seem to be metallic. Mine is just inside the tint and I don't have any problems with radar detection. On the other hand, good aftermarket tints tend to be metallic and so might cause a loss in sensitivity. If in doubt you can always find a weak stationary radar source and do your own testing.

Brick - You should have no issues on your OEM Accord tint. I had my V1 mounted up there (and my Cobra) for the longest time.

The tint I got for my vehicle was done by Alta Mere and it's not a metallic film. Just straight classic black.
