And I don't understand why people think the older stuff is better, I've had about a dozen different versions and new was always the best.

Either way what you listed is not 3.813. I have owned 3.812 and 3.813, but I have more trust in my 3.863.

i guess it kinda of makes sense the newer the better. Is kinda of amazing what you find on ebay. I found an escort 6800 and and escort back from 1986. Also found a Micronta Road Patrol XK Dual Band Radar Detector

I bought a 1.7 ver 2.879 2 weeks ago for $200.

The upgrade would be 189....if you can talk him down a bit to 180 you're doing well. $200 isn't too bad.

Regardless, if the guy is local to you, make sure to meet him in a public place, and have a coil cord and windshield mount to test his unit before you pay for it.

If he isn't local, pay him with paypal.
