By doing this would I get alot of ka band false from cobras. Does this increase or decrease sensitivity. Who here has theres on or off. I want to have it off and have pop on so I could stop to get j outs with real leos.

I just got my 3.872 last night in the mail. I also have the 3.861.
The 3.861 falses on X-band when POP is turned on, not sure why. I was talking to the folks at VR about it, but they didn't find what was the cause. I left my POP off on that unit.
The 3.872 isn't falsing on X so far and I have POP on.
As far as the Ka guard, leave it on, it's a nice feature.
All it does is increase your falses and does nothing for sensitivity as your detector will be alerting KA 80% of the time
Why people are ok with false Ka alerts for an extra 0.1 of mile detection makes me wonder POP-off KA guard-ON and only get valid KA alerts

Ka guard off means any signal present on Ka for any amount of time will be qualified as an alert, regardless of whether it's a stream of pulses, a cyclic sweep, or a lower fundamental frequency that is a part of another detector's known sweep plan is present. This mode is extremely useful for LEOs who suffered a Spectre IV malfunction but confiscated someone's V1 at the previous traffic stop. I can't think of any other practical uses.
it does, however, alert to quick trigger IO KA almost instantaneously, with guard on there maybe half second to 1 second delay.
I think by turning Ka guard off, you're setting yourself up for failure. If you start to get more Ka false alerts, you might eventually start to not believe your V1 and blow off a weak I/O Ka shot as just another false alert. Then boom, you're smoked.
turn it off its useless imo...well unless if ur area is exclusively stalker II's
