    Default Why no ticket?

So I'm driving 95/100 mph east of Little Rock, AR on I-40 when I am hit by state leo using instant on. He was going west and going at a high rate of speed.

I hit the brakes but am sure he not a good shot, so why did he not turn around and ticket me?

Maybe he figured he would not be able to safely catch you before next exit.

Or he could've been on the way to something else, although in that case I wonder why he would bother with the I/O.

    1. Any vehicles blocking u?

    2. Could be cosine effect is the angle between the radar and your car was great..

Example: if one car travels southbound in lane # 2 and another car travels northbound in lane # 2, the angle between them is greater than if the northbound car was in lane # 1. If he squeezed the trigger at a short distance in the opposing lane, he may have got a lower speed.

The greater the angle, the greater the error, the lower the speed the radar shows relative to the target speed. (angle is greater when the distance decreases)

    3. Maybe he was on his way to some emergency and had bigger fish to fry...

Visually estimated your speed, then hit you with IO because he knew you were speeding. He was already in route to another call so he radioed ahead of you to have someone else check your speed.
Or, he just didn't give a damn today.

I agree with all these suggestions. What you said crossed my mind and that put me on alert but didn't see any blip and kept rolling on.

Or he could have just been a cool LEO and not thought that you were endangering anyone's life... okay, maybe not .

Nope I kept it. Got it and the X50 hardwired in the truck now. It is growing on me and I do love the arrows.

Very odd AR State Police loved handing out tickets to me, I got 6 tickets in 6months when I was living there, very odd.
