Next on my wish list is an I-Out.
For Infinities.
I would like that feature, but I have to think, would it be less sensitive then?
I run the latest V1 in one car (upgraded from '97 purchase) and a ~2004 model in the other. I've never seen a single Junk. Could this have anything to do with tweaking the default V1 settings? I run into a lot of cars with POS detectors which sometimes result in false positives but no Js.
Perhaps I was driving to fast and missed the "J"
one sad truth is it seems as time goes on my v1 isn't as "tough" as it used to be with all of the new false Ka alerts everywhere. in NYC, many of those highway constuction signs that post messages emit Ka band signal's, some of which the v1 consistenly J's out, others which it completely ignores. I've also had it J out real LEO, mostly after I get a visual and pass them but nonetheless the detector makes a mistake.
the J feature is unreliable and should be scrapped along with POP. has anyone on these boards ever gotten a ticket from POP radar within the past year or so? i doubt it, and anyone know of any LEO's using POP radar?
anyway not to get too off topic but imo the J feature was a mistake, created to limit false Ka alerts from the detector's increased POP detection ability, which in my opinion was bigger in myth than actuality.
all in all, J for Just Kidding!!
I have had it J out real radar about 4 times since I purchased the detector. The J for the crap detectors probably about 21 times.
Laser Interceptor Dual, Laser Interceptor Quad, Valentine 1 & The Escort 8500 X50 - Blue, Uniden BC296D, GRE500, Lasershield, 2011 Kia Soul +, Yamaha FZ6, 2005 Black Dodge Neon SRT-4,
Could having POP on improve detection of short I/O bursts ?
I have to laugh whenever I read of people saying that POP radar is not a threat. I just don't trust all police to avoid these guns and I don't trust all of them enough to believe they wont issue tickets based on POP bursts alone. Maybe POP radar is not used, for certain locations, for NOW. However it was not that long ago when I would read about drivers that did not worry about LASER, or even super-wide KA, because, after all, it was not in use, right? But as time went on we now see laser and super-wide band KA as the real threats they are. Nobody speaks of driving with no laser detection here, even if it is most difficult to get enough warning to slow down. I look forward to the day a detector can pickup the 16ms pop burst guns.
I have read about J outs, but for whatever reason I have yet to get one. I just got my V1 update about a week ago and my previous version did not have the J out feature.
