After speaking with DJRAMS about this, he confirmed it for me....although I havent really tested it..and would rather not frankly.
I was reading through the V1 manual again last night for any info that I'd missed, and further clarification on the 3 preset modes A, L, and little L.
When DJ had originally helped me to program my first V1 (an older unit off of Ebay), he added the note to:
"Never run it in Big L mode, or you'll be completely blind to K band with those settings"
I always took his word for it being new to the V1, but wondered what the real differences were between Logic, and Advanced Logic. From reading the manual, you'd think the ONLY thing different between LOGIC and ADVANCED LOGIC modes are the way it reports (or does not report) X band radar.
It basically tells you that in little L (Logic), X band radar thought to be falses will only be alerted to at muted volume....where as BIG L (Advanced Logic), those same X band sources thought to be Falses, will not be alerted to AT ALL.
This is all fine and dandy...except according to DJ, its the same for K band as well. So if you're someone that normally shuts X band off completely (like me)...after reading the manual, you'd think there was no risk whatsoever using BIG L since it only involves X band alerts. If it's indeed K as well, you'd be putting yourself at a huge risk.
Am I the only one that thinks Valentine make a huge booboo by not including that in the manual? Especially when they specifically name X band, and not K.
