I had my V1 set on Big L 30 sec mute E and F down, started the car hit the mute button for curiousity and it overrided the Big L before 30 seconds and started to alert?

Mine does not do that, how do you know your 30 was not up?
Don't like it if true, I would rather have the opportunity to premute a 30 breakthrough.
i've never seen mine do that, and I hit the button on automutes all the time because i have the mute lever set to low volume and the mute button set to 0 volume...i hit the button and it silences the automuted alert and keeps it silent beyond the 30 seconds.
I will try it again tomm morn in the same spot.
Technically, when you manually activate the mute button, that is not the same as automute. I was under the impression that when you manually mute a signal, it stays muted until the signal disappears. So if the signal is present for less than 30 seconds, the mute is no longer in effect and will report the next signal immediately. I do not use the mute feature very much so I am speculating here.
Also, a new signal may end the mute or at least report a bogey lock tone at full volume.

With E and F down, it will unmute after 6 LEDs on L mode.
If you pushed the mute button:
-ONCE: it will mute indefinitely, unless it picks up a new signal - even for a brief moment.
-TWICE: this mutes all signals regardless of new alerts. Great for shopping areas. Careful here though, as new threats on different bands may not be seen.
E and F down doesn't unmute at 6, that setting will keep it muted until the time is up. F UP means it will unmute when the signal gradually climbs to 6.
Little L just means that anything that is muted will be played at the volume set by the mute lever and shown on the display, Big L will not give you any visible or audible alert until the mute is broken.
Same thing, but you will know of the threat before it unmutes. Little L gives the alert at the muted volume and displays it visually.
Advanced logic gives no prior warning until it unmutes at 6 LEDs, thus scaring the $#!+ out of you. DONT USE THIS MODE - NO REASON. Little L (logic) should be used, and if you don't want to hear the threat at the muted volume, just turn it down.
