    Default bad concealed display

I just won a colored display off flea-bay and the seller stated:

"Please note that K and X band sometime will not light up. I am not sure what is wrong with it but if I press the plug firmly, it will light up on and off. So be sure to take a note of that before placing your bid."

It was cheap so if it's totally crapped out I'm only out a few bucks.

Anyone had trouble with the plug on a remote? I'm hoping it's a simple fix.

Looks like a Lan-Guy mod with blue, red, yellow and green leds.

Why would you buy it if it's defective??

It should be pretty easy to fix.

He says it works when the cord is manipulated so it could be a bad cord or corrosion. Could be the signal for the two intermittent functions are carried over the same conductor.

    Could also be FUBAR

I talk to folks all the time who are completely clueless about troubleshooting ANYTHING but that's an entirely different discussion.

Hopefully it was worth your $36

Thanks, I appreciate it! If it looks too deep I'll be sure to let you handle it.

I guess it's one of your "competitors" models according to reb.

I was going to get one of your conversions, but for $30... well, I figured I'd take a chance.

It'll probably get home before I do

Anyway, kudos to you guys who do these mods. It's not as simple as some folks may think!

Have you ever considered doing the mod that puts the connector on the back of the unit? Should be a piece of cake for you.
