I am in PA and I have always seemed to get on average 1/2 mile warning with my V1 with these drone, they are all over I-81. Keep in mind with was the same when they were V1.7 then upgraded to V1.8 pop2 3.824.
K range for me has stayed about the same between the 1.7. and 1.8. I always expected I would do better than 1/2 after going to the 1.8pop2 but both units on average about .5 to .7 miles. More times than not it is .5 miles.

i had my v1 directly under the blue strip and one day when my winshield was very dirty and i was very lazy (about a week ago) i lowered it a couple inches . at first i figured im getting better detection because before i was aiming the v1 into the dirty windsheild but after i washed my car i drove around for a while with it lowered and noticed better detection range. i even put the suction cups exactly where they were originally (right under the blue strip) and noticed the detection range was a tiny bit weaker. i guess my v1 doesnt like to be too close to my blue strip....i keep it up there in that area for the most part, but have lowered it a few inches.

im probably not making correct sense of whats really going on but my results are accurate as far as the detection range change. my v1 needs a little space in between it and the blue strip (about a couple inches)

I hope when the new version of the V1 comes out he will have a seperate tone or something to alert you to POP mode!

Somebody has the inside scoop?? where are you

My feeling about it is, other than for us geeks who want to know if it was POP or not that hit us, there isn't really any need for a special POP alert. After all, POP is just a variation of instant-on radar, and V1 doesn't have a special alert for instant on either. It just goes from nothing to a signal instantly, and you have to slow down fast and hope that you weren't the one who was targeted. Whether it was instant on or POP that targeted you is largely irrelevant as long as it is detected, hopefully before you're the target.

Also, since detectors often false on POP, a special alert ends up being unnecessarily alarming at first, and eventually gets ignored if it falses a lot. Just ask anyone with a Belscort that has POP turned on.

Ah come on, the RX65 is a good detector just like the V1 is. I get consistent 1 mile range on K band signs everyday.
