1yr warranty on new one...if you get an out of warranty V1 serviced, its 1yr warranty from the date it was serviced

I picked it up for 200 used with box and all the accessories.
Its version 1.8 with pop 3.818
It comes on, but it is not picking up anything, not even doors at the grocery stores.
I went through all the settings but it will not pick up anything.
I got a rear alert k band when I turned my 9500ix in the car but that was it.
Whats the turn around time on servicing it up? and the exact cost if anyone know I would appreciate any info

Same story here. I sent it in to VR with a note, a check for $45 and my credit card info (in case the bill was more than $45) I sent it USPS priority, tracking, insured for $500. It cost about $12.

3 days later VR called and asked about the check (said it would be an extra week for it to clear) so I said bill the CC.

7 days later it was on my doorstep

They didn't pack any paperwork with it which I thought was strange. I was hoping for a "Congratulations on having the best MOTHER@#CKING RD on the PLANET!!" note or something...

It works great now! Awesome over the road detector.

I'd order a concealed display or something while I was at it to save on future waiting time/shipping. I got a remote audio deal.

yeah I will send it in tomorrow for sure I paid 200 for it and 45 plus shipping s still really a good deal.
I was wondering if I should keep the 3.818 firmware or just upgrade it to latest.
I cant think of any reason to upgrade it unless there was a major overhaul in the latest builds.

Check out the thread on the firmware version differences. It may cost to get an upgrade depending on how old it is and if they have to upgrade internals.

Speaking of upgrades. Anyone else wonder what happens to all the older v1s that VR gets? Do they end up getting trashed or do they dispose of them some other way?

There have been many, many rumors of VR developing a Spectre immune V1 since 2005, when Bel introduced the STi, but all of those rumors have proven to be baseless. I highly doubt that VR is working on this or anything else for that matter, seeing as four years have passed since the STi's introduction and VR hasn't had any real new innovations in over a decade.
