Default Taking down the V1... Also sent for tuning today.

I sent my newly acquired V1 that I got used for $180 to make sure it is up to its topnotch performing stage. It is V1.8 pop firmware 3.826

Also, do you guys remove your V1 everytime you reach your destination because of Sunlight?

I have mines mounted RIGHT under the tint which Im guessing helps a bit. Thanks!

I take mine down if it's not parked in my garage.

I take mine down every time. I'm suspecting the sun and heat around here has cooked my v1s in the past.

I take it down, even if it's not in the sun, but just on the windshield, it can still get really hot. Especially since heat rises, if I can leave my windows open I usually leave it up but most of the time it goes in the glove compartment or under the seat.

I used to take mine down, but at the end of the day it costs about $50 dollars with shipping to get it repaired / tuned up. It's supposed to be designed to handle the heat, so I just say screw it. I've got the 9500CI as backup, and the second the V1 starts to slip I'll know it.

I will take it down if I'm not in a familiar area, and secure it.

I live in orlando, Not MUCH breaking into cars around here. its also kinda difficult to notice the V1 with the tint unless you are looking for a RD.

I might invest in a decent Car Alarm though since mines doesn't have it.

I really didn't want to have to take it down EVERYTIME... to put it back, level it, connect it to do it all over if ur only driving 10min..

Mine gets hot enough to burn your hand. That's hot enough to be out of spec.

No way... the metal gets hot to the touch way before it goes out of spec. I think there needs to be testing of this because I'm sure the metal gets a lot hotter than the inside components, wouldn't you guys think? Metal absorbs the heat? I don't know.
