Interesting. I've never heard of this on a Belscort product. In the spot where my V1 always ghosts a Ka band contact, none of my Escort RDs do.

I just think it is normal-- when my detector is right next to a radar, it will overload and often show more than one contact.

Older V1s have very accurate bogey counters. This only started showing up on revisions that have come out in the last couple of years or so.

    That reminds me actually...

When I was on my way home here the other day, I was trying to clock the cars on the other side of the road* with mine and when I was going through a 3 K band false bogey area (shop doors) I got my V1 to false a Ka alert also.

No biggie as Ka isn't used here and it could have been a legitimate false caused by someone with a cheap RD also as I have not been able to replicate it since. That and sending in a V1 for servicing from here could be a real PITA also so I would prefer not to for another while.

*I was trying to see if my speed would be added to the speed of the oncoming traffic but unfortunately, the Bushnell failed to get a reading on the cars across the median concrete wall so all I got back was my own speed instead which in fairness was pretty accurate.

I've seen it twice this week...may be the same officer both days, may be the same Charger..I can't be sure. He was in the same location two different times this week, and both times I approached him with c/o K, and what seemed like i/o Ka.

Seems wierd to me since I've never noticed it before.
Encountered this several times. Using K band for rear and Ka band for front. It's a local SD but did not have a good look on the inside. Hopefully, I'll be able to check it out someday and I strongly believe it is not ghosting.

That must also be what they run around here. I'll need to check the arrows the next time I pass one.

In my case, as you approach the cruiser from the rear, it's purely K band at full strength at a distance and gets 2 bogeys as you get closer. As you pass by the cruiser, you start to get strong ka band with the K band fading then going to full Ka band. I'm going to have to follow this local SD the next time around I see him.

I'm usually getting hit head-on and they will use it i/o most of the time. It goes from quiet to 2 and then K and Ka with Ka being strongest.

If they're using the same system here, I should see the Ka fade and K get stronger as I pass. I'll watch for that.

Something similar happened , I was comming down us-27 back from orlando going to Miami and my V-1 picked up a KA warning , I was driving trough a small town but overall there was no traffic and 2 big lanes of road , so I decided to keep driving at 45 mph , since my arrows were tripping and not lightning up (as mentioned on another thread ) I was looking around to see were the cop was , sure that I wasn't going to get a ticket , next thing I see is the cop behind me pulling me over , I stop and he tells me that I was going 45 on a 30 , how can the speed limit go from 70 to 30 is beyond me , there was no speed sign neither or I would had slowed down.

The funny part is that he wrote on the ticket LIDAR , why use laser when you leave your radar on ? doesn't it defeat the porpuse ? the laser alarm never went off neither ,unless he he hitted me from behind , I think he may had been bluffing.
