Default Bought a New V1 with my tax return

I had totally forgotten about my tax return, I was shocked when it came in the mail. I immediatly took back the Xtr-695 and put and extra 200 more down and got the V1. So now I wont have to look back wondering I shouldnt of gotten that.

But couple of question, as I was using the XTR-695 I came to found out that I had only see 35.5 ka band used in my area. I saw that V1 came with pop on and I know that pop is only used with 33.8 and some k band. I was wondering what should I do, should I leave it on or off. Is there any performance increase when on or off.

    Welcome to the forums.
And you will love your new toy.
I'd leave pop off if I were you.

Welcome and congrats on your purchase. I run A mode POP off and X off. What version is the new one?

IMHO, depends on your state, but read this before you decide. Veil Guy: X-band Police Traffic Radar: Reports of its Demise, Greatly Exaggerated

    I agree
we don't get a discount for being tagged with an 'obsolete' X-band unit

Drive with it stock, for a month . . . [objective] LEARNING
then get creative (if you must)

POP on vs off should also IMO be experimented with. Start with it in STOCK and make changes as needed; don't pre-estimate what you think you might need by what others here personally prefer. Everyone converges to a different set of preferred settings.

A lot of J falses or unexplained Ka blips? Try turning POP off.

A lot of X/K falses from automatic door openers? Try programming automute, starting with 15sec 4 dots and go up to 30secs 6 or 8 dots if necessary.

Still can't stand X-band falsing? turn X band off as a last resort.

^ +1 It's all about personal preferance. But I have to say POP is useless....just turn it off.
