I recently acquired a 3.812 V1 after having heard the rumors of it's great performance. I moved the 3.858 V1 over to the F-150 and installed the 3.812 into the Vette to compare it's performance vs the 9500ci.
In the past the 3.858 rarely alerts prior to the 9500ci and never has alerted first on Ka band. In driving by my usual false alert locations I noticed the V1 seemed to alert almost at the same instant as my 9500ci. Sometimes it was a split second ahead of the ci sometimes it was the ci, but only by a split second either way. I was encouraged but waiting for a real encounter.
Last evening I got a 34.7 Ka band alert coming down the interstate. I'm not sure if it was I/O or CO because encounter was brief. I'm almost leaning to IO since the alert range was so short and disappeared so quickly.
Looks like the rumors about the 3.812 may be true.
