I bought a V1 about a month ago and, being sick of my encounters being limited to K/X falses and a Jed out Ka, decided to look for a speedtrap to crash on I-57 in Illinois. The first time, I found a trooper sitting on the median, not shooting anyone (traffic was moving at or below PSL), and he didn't do anything to me on the way back either (since he was either doing paperwork or actually paying attention and shooting selective IO, I wasn't going to go get myself a ticket).
Today I got bored and made a quick run to try again. I drove north for about 10 miles, and saw a trooper sitting on the southbound shoulder with his lights on, but with no one pulled over. I figured they were enforcing the "move over" law with another trooper down the line, so this would be a perfect chance to see how my V1 coped. Well, on the way back, he was no longer there, and I just got a sudden 5-6 bar burst of Ka while going 80 in the LL (with a rabbit closely ahead). Needless to say, I immediately braked and merged right, as did the rabbit (). Evidently, 80 isn't enough to get pulled over on a good day, since neither of us were (but it was quite unsettling to say the least). The funny thing is I never did see the trooper--he wasn't on the shoulder or median, and the only explanation I can think of is that there was an unmarked car going the opposite way.
1: Illinois State Police troopers know how to use IO
2: Nothing will save you except a rabbit (CB radio may or may not have, but I don't have one)
