    Default Alert but no band

Somtimes my v-1 will alert but give no band. This is because I am either on the phone or I am on a walkie talkie. Now when this happens and it gives no band little red dot comes up right next to the number.

Is that what that dot is for? To tell me that it is picking something up and it doesn't know what band or what.

That's the Ku indication. I get usually a single brap and the dot, weak signal. I'm going to cut Ku off again.

i was just going to say its a ku band signal.

you had me worried for a second, i though that it was another v1 glitch.

    i'm relieved its not!

Remeber I am new to this V-1 so I ask questions. Most other radar detectors are just the same. But v-1 is in a league of it's own.

Ku comes turned off on a V1, Who turned it on?
When I had a 3.818 I turned Ku on from time to time, I got an occasionally one LED just like edweird did.

Outrun, did you change any of the programming settings on your V1? Option H turns Ku on, so if you did that while playing around, that's why you're getting occasional Ku falses.
If I'm passing you on the right, YOU are in the wrong lane!

    Outrun-
I assume these Ku band alerts were all falses? Or, were they actual LEO's?
I never had a Ku false alert (or real for that matter) when I had it enabled.

EDIT: oh, I see now that it's when you use your cell phone or walkie-talkie.
