Window Tint + V1 Question?

I'm planning on getting all 6 windows on my car tinted next week and I was wondering if this will hinder V1's performance.

I really don't know much about tinting and types of shades.....but is there some type(s) to avoid that will reduce V1's sensitivity and detection.

Any tips, suggestions, recommendations is greatly appreciated.

Just make sure the tint is NOT metallic. This will cancel all hopes for laser and I believe reduce radar but not sure. Definitely sure on laser detection being canceled completely though.

It will affect laser alerts but anyway with laser alerts its already too late... LEO got ur speed. Unless you have laser jammers.

Metallic does affect radar. Also, don't get the cheap die tint because it will fade to purple. Get ceramic tint... I am getting mine done this weekend. $200 for 5 windows. Are you getting your windshield tinted?? Not the best idea... automatic ticket if you get pulled over.

I have Huper Optik Ceramic tint on my Sonata. The V1 seems to work fine with all radar bands (my arrows change as I pass speed signs and LEO's doing radar). I've onlly gotten laser shots from the front (that I know of) and the windshield is stock except the tinted strip.

I thought I was going to have problems because the tint totally destroyed my AM reception and some of my FM (In glass antenna). I actually mounted an external antenna so I can get the news/traffic on my drives. I think I have some slightly reduced sensitivity from the rear thinking of the one or 2 speed signs I pass daily. I'll have to check again later. VR said ceramic won't have any effect when I called them and that was my concern after the radio deal.

Be careful there. I actually had some saves from Laser without Laser Jammer but I guess your saying in general which I understand. It's not worth a try without a Laser Jammer.

Overall a RD is not ur best protection against laser. You might get lucky and pick up scatter and have enough time to slow down or it's a ticket notifier. LEO's love hiding behind bushes, curve in road, or after a small hill and so on... If you get tagged by laser in those situations you are toast, if all you have is RD.
