Default V1 wired through the HU

I want to wire my v1 so the sounds goes through my HU and is played over my speakers. I know there is a audio remote but how would I go about wiring this to the HU. Can anyone point me in the right direction. I tired searching but came up with no results.

You would need to open up the remote audio unit and figure out what component controls the sound, then you will have to run a wire from that to the HU.

Not worth the hassle if you ask me.

    Factory Freak was mistaken.

The remote Audio Unit has a 3.5mm OUT jack on it. (Headphones Jack). If your headunit has RCA Auxilary in, simply get an RCA Male to 3.5mm Male cord ($3-$15) and run the wires. Keep in mind that this will only be helpful if you have to have your Head Unit on Aux to allow this. If you already have a constant MP3 player or Satellite Radio player running into your HU and you already have it on Aux all the time, simply get a 3.5mm splitter and plug both the external music source and a 3.5mm Male to 3.5mm Male (one end in V1) into the splitter.

IF you regularly listen to the radio and and don't want to be bothered with having to leave it on Aux all the time, well, you're F'ed. The best option at THAT point would be to get a nice little stand-alone power Aux Speaker and plug THAT into the V1's Audio Adapter. Escort makes a nice little one that puts out about 50dB if I remember right and wouldn't you know it I think Roy even sells them!

Bottom Line- It's not likely that you'll get exactly what you want. But there are alternatives.

    Edited for harshness.

The bel / escort external speaker (12v) might be an option to connect to the remote audio I used one with the RX65 and they are LOUD!

The item that we're referring to can be found here although it appears that Roy is currently out of stock.

Edit: Keep in mind this unit is small but VERY powerful. Plan for about 3" x 3" x 3" with the mount and you can put it up under your dash if you want to.

since my alpine HU doesn't have a aux (usb only) I will not be going the splitter route. It looks like I will buy the escort speaker when its back in stock. Since I have a saab 92x I will also mount the mute knob near the shifter for easy access.

That sounds like a great plan. RebINC has a thread floating around here with a Do-It-Yourself mod that allows you to remove the actual volume knob from the audio add-on piece if you want to go with a completely clean dash-install of the volume knob. Otherwise, the little black box (just a tad bigger than the Concealed Display) is fairly easy to mount when intact. Best of luck!

A lot of newer head units have audio interrupt. However, I think you'd need to figure out some way to trigger the audio interrupt on most of those head units.
