    Talking Got a v1

I ordered a v1 it should be here sometime this week. However i did have some questions. I also have 9500ix and was wondering if i could use the power cord for my 9500ix to power my v1. If so would the mute work on the v1 as welll? This is the hard wire kit you get from escort. Also what is the best mode to run your v1 in i dont care about flase alerts im 30mins from the city. Most of the leo's here run k band c/o or stalker ka and i did see a leo with x band the other day but that is only like once out of a year that you would see x band. Any help you guys or gals could give me would be great. And thanks to everyone that helps out on this site. I have learned so much now and cant get off this site.

I would keep your V1 in "A" mode at all times, since you do not mind the false alarms.

The Escort Direct wire will only power the V1. I suggest you just hardwire the V1 with the supplied hardwire kit. It's worth it.

I just got mine and will be using the supplied kit, better to use as designed.

The Escort kit will power your unit just fine. No worries whatsoever and this is 100% ok

However, the mute will not work. Might as well disconnect it.

Also, keep that V1 in A Mode, no K band muting, and mount it high and LEVEL with a clean windshield ( I cannot stress these factors enough).

You may get a lot of false alerts.

I turned off the KA guard and left POP on at one time. There were so many falses I started to ignore the thing. On a 30 mile trip I got about 6 KA falses every day.

i tryed my escort hardwire kit on my v1 and it powers the v1 but wont let you change any settings and also wont let you which modes l, L, A modes so i guess i have to use the hardwire kit that came with the v1. It would of been nice to just have one wire tho . I would like to run my 9500ix and v1 in the same car not at the same time .

More than one or two J-outs in a day is extremely uncommon, so it's no big deal to someone who isn't a wimp about false alerts. J-outs is the only thing that turning POP off affects, and you immediately know that a J-out is a false alert, so I don't see it as worth it. That's about as smart as turning off K band because there are a lot of K-band door openers. Leave it on.

I'd go with at least little-L mode, if not big-L. I don't know why so many people are scared of the Logic modes. All it affects is X-band, and it still only mildly filters the signals, just enough to kill some of the door openers.
