    Default Detecting individual lidar hits?

As I have posted my experience in the "Real Experiences" forum, I was hit by lidar last week some time. What I noticed was that the V1 alerted, the alert was continuous for a couple seconds, then the laser alert cycle began again basically in the middle of the previous alert.

Is this indicative of two hits?

Default Re: Detecting individual lidar hits?

The V1 alerts continuously for a minimum of 1.5-2 seconds ("doo dee doo dee doo dee doo dee") after the laser stops. So you'll always hear at least four "doo dees", and possibly more if hit more than once during the alert or hit for a longer period of time.

If you heard "doo dee doo dee..." and then a brief pause, then another "doo dee doo dee..." then the V1 stopped picking up laser for at least 2 seconds (alert stops), then picked up another hit (new alert).

So, individual hits more than 2-3 seconds apart can be distinguished by the V1's alert, but hits closer together will just cause a longer alert.
