    Default Stolen V1!

Yesterday during work someone smashed my window and nabbed my V1. They left a pair of $300 oakleys and a top of the line Alpine head unit in the car. It was broad daylight so prolly some crack head looking for some quick cash. I'm located in Utica, NY if anyone happens to come across this unit. I called V1 and was more than pleased when I asked if they had my info from 5 years ago and they did. V1 has probably the best customer service I've experienced ever. Its sad when these get stolen but I'm more than happy to replace it with another V1.

That sucks... In December the samething happened to me with a laptop. They left a Garmin Nuvi on the dash untouched. I had to file a police report since it was a work laptop. The cop told me it just happens. It is a "Have", "Have Not" situaiton. I told him looks like the shoe is on the other foot now... He laughed and handed me his card with the case number on it.

Just pisses you off. It boils your anger everythime you think about it...

When you call V1 and tell them yours has been stolen they want a copy of the police report to go along with your serial. If or when someone upgrades the unit they go about normal business and notify the police of the stolen unit and the persons address. So you may see your v1 in a few months or 5 years down the road or not at all. Either way they were more than helpful on the phone which immediately made up my mind about what radar detector to buy next. You just don't get customer service like that anymore.

I know what it feels like to get a detector stolen. I had my Rx65 stolen from my car a while back. Never was recovered. Person who stole it was more than likely a teenager around my age at the time. Probably had no idea it was a $300+ detector. Valentine has a better chance recovering your detector than Bel or Escort in my opinion. Keep an eye open on craigslist and Ebay. Good luck, hope everything works out in your favor

Sorry to hear about your loss. Back in the day had one of the first Passport models ripped from my car and of course insurance wouldn’t cover it to add insult to injury.

I’ve installed a V1 visor clip in the headliner by the map light console so I can easily slide the V1 out when I leave the car, works great! Since I had to reverse the direction of the visor clip to make the install work the V1 won’t lock into place, but the hardwired power cord holds it fast.

Glad to hear VR treated you well and hope you get an RD back in your car soon!

Damn! Sorry to hear that. Sucks that some people have to take advantage of hard working people to support a habbit, which is more than likely what happened.

Check craigslist daily for the v1 using search words such as radar, laser, jammer, detector, v1, valentine, etc.

If someone is selling ask for the serial, if it's yours ask to meet up and call the cops to be there.
