I currently have a V1 3.872.
Last summer, I had a V1 3.864.
Imagine that my car is the silver car pictured below:

With my 3.864, i used to pick up a K band false from that shopping center (grocery store) every single day sitting at that stop light in the very spot the silver car is.
My .872 sits silently, daily. Exact same spot, etc.
So, since I only make this commute three months out of the year, I thought maybe something had changed -- maybe they switched to x band units (x off) or something, I thought.
I pulled in the parking lot, and, of course, I picked up the false (plus several others).
And it wasn't just today -- this has been going on for two weeks. I *cannot* pick up the false from that spot.
However, I bought the unit new and it's "real world" performance seems better than the last one's (according to coworkers who ride with me daily).
I called VR -- they weren't helpful. The lady was OK, but wasn't offering theories or advice, only told me to send it in if I wanted to.
What could be going on?
