    Default Question for V1

ok lets say a cop is behind a corner on the freeway and is shooting people from the back and you have a V1 and your coming towards the cop... is the V1 going to be able to pick it up in time to slow down? or no..
Also the radar is being constantly shot.

i'm not sure about the laser, it all depends on if the v1 can detect the scatter which may bounch off the rear of the car...

only tests would be able to conferm this, but i'd doubt that its possible.

I have seen a huge difference in detection range around corners (90 degree encounters) between the V1 and the Belscorts. V1 easily wins there no contest. My observations apply to the 985 and the 995.

On one of the roads near my house, a cop parks his car in his driveway and his Stalker Ka radar is facing into his garage. The V1 can pick it up a half-mile away, but the Belscorts can't pick it up until I'm within 200-300 ft. There is less of a difference in range when running into the radar head on, but the V1 is still better there too.

Well there is a reason why Jimbonzzz, myself, Outrun, Boomerman, and now Stealthjamal own a V1. I must add though that I still like the X50. One other thing. The two LEO's that consulted for us also like the V1.

V1 has a wider angle of view for radar, meaning it picks up radar better from the side, than the Belscorts. The advantage of this is better range around corners; the drawback is more falses from door openers and other nuisance devices off the road.

Belscorts have more of a "tunnel vision", meaning they pick up radar better straight ahead than to the sides. This is part of the reason they don't false as much as the V1, but they also don't pick up LEOs around corners as well either.

I'm fairly confident that the V1 would pick it up as long as the LEO is actually transmitting. The local police moved my favorite speed sign to a new spot which is actually facing down from the top of a hill, with nothing but the road and a big field in front of it. There is literally NOTHING to reflect the signal back behind the sign. Even so the V1 picked up 1000 feet in advance when I came up from behind. That's pretty amazing if you ask me.

Any radar antenna generates whats known as sidelobes when it radiates. That's one reason you can detect it even when the antenna is not pointed directly at you. These sidelobes go out in all directions, even rearward. Of course, those won't have the signal strength of the main focused beam.
